Description

Join Institute on Aging’s Companioa team for presentations and discussions with a selection of tech startups using artificial intelligence (AI) to improve lives of people with dementia and their families.

AI can enhance dementia care in several ways

  • Diagnosis and clinical decision support

  • Companionship and reducing social isolation

  • Vital sign monitoring & fall prevention

  • Personalized educating and training

  • Helping maintain independence & dignity

There's significant potential, but also challenges and obstacles to  overcome before these solutions go mainstream, including cost / reimbursement, distribution, impact and inclusiveness.

This event is FREE and designed to inform and educate members of the public as well as IoA's broader partner community.

Format & Agenda

Each startup will have 5 minutes to present their company, then there will be a moderated Q&A, following the rule - there are NO dumb questions.

5:00 Arrival and drinks / snacks
5:30 Introduction & Welcome
5:45 Startup Presentations
6:15 Q&A discussion moderated by Stephen Johnston
6:45 Wrap up
7:00 Event ends
