The Sheltowee Venture Fund invests in very early stage companies.  We work closely with the Sheltowee Business Network and make monetary capital investments in coordination with human capital investments from the Sheltowee Business Network.  The companies listed in this Community Portal are part of the Sheltowee Venture Fund's portfolio.  The Sheltowee Venture Fund I has a model similar to a Venture Studio model where we invest in companies at a very early stage and work the Sheltowee Community to move the companies forward.    

The Louisville Healthcare CEO Council (LHCC) is excited to announce the Healthcare Ventures Challenge powered by AARP Innovation Labs. LHCC is seeking proposals for innovations that address barriers to Affordable Healthcare Solutions for older adults. 6-8 finalists will be selected to present at a virtual Healthcare Ventures Challenge on August 5th, 2021. Finalists will have the opportunity to showcase their interventions to investors and healthcare executives that span the entire continuum of care. One winner will be selected to move forward and pitch at the AARP Innovation Labs Grand Finale Pitch Competition this fall.

The Derby City Angels is an angel investor group in Louisville, KY that is part of the Sheltowee Angel Network.  

Louisville Entrepreneurship Acceleration Programs, or LEAP, offers resources, including educational series, networking events and mentorship opportunities tailored for healthcare startups of all stages. LEAP is where innovators come to meet corporate leaders, understand their pain points, access data available nowhere else, and bridge the gap between product and market.

The Sheltowee Business Network (SBN) is a membership based organization that assists entrepreneurs in growing their companies.  SBN is made up of a network of highly successful entrepreneurs, investors, mentors and business advisors who can help entrepreneurs reach their business goals.  SBN can mentor and provide advisory services that can help entrepreneurs raise capital, do business development, conduct strategic planning and assist in areas where the founder needs help.  SBN is a membership organization and our members have the opportunity to earn equity and fees by helping our entrepreneurs who participate in the Sheltowee Advisory Services program.

CEO^c's Aging2.0 is excited to announce OPTIMIZE which will be held in Louisville, KY for the first time this September 21-22, 2022 from historic Churchill Downs. We will convene industry-leading corporate and innovation experts to discuss the most timely and relevant topics in healthcare aging innovation. This year’s CEO^c/Aging2.0 OPTIMIZE conference focus is Interoperability and Workforce.

OPTIMIZE will dive deep into themes of importance for this evolving industry, combining the expertise of the CEO^C and Aging2.0 and their extensive networks from around the world. This is the gathering place for networking, ideas, and action, along with some horse races and perhaps a bit of bourbon and beer!

Our discussions and convening of the two-day conference will culminate with the CareTech Pitch competition. Selected from hundreds of applicants from around the globe, including participants chosen from Aging2.0’s Global Innovation Search, the CareTech Pitch competition will showcase the most exciting scalable solutions around the topic of interoperability. The finalists will highlight how solutions can change how data is exchanged and communicated to drive stronger health outcomes as part of the conference finale!

The 10-weeks consist of weekly lectures from med10VC staff and external experts within various key areas, followed by one-on-one mentorship to apply the weekly covered content individually. This approach leads to actionable outcomes that rapidly advances each company towards commercialization.
   
• The program provided by med10VC is the result of decades of experience with providing mentorship and with running various accelerator and innovation programs across the world. The methodology of, and importance with reaching actionable outcomes stems from both first-hand experience with growing startups and being on the receiving end of mentorship and acceleration programs, coupled with tracking measurable outcomes from mentorship and education to startups.
