The WKU Konexon's Community Portal is here to provide a resource to entrepreneurs and those who may want to be an entrepreneur for the commercialization of new technologies.  The portal is managed by the WKU Research Foundation and is here to help. 

The WKU Research Foundation (RF) Board is composed of members with expertise in various areas of science, technology, entrepreneurship, business development, economic development, and fundraising.  Because of the expertise of its members, this Board has the potential to connect resources to advance initiatives developed at WKU by faculty and students.  For example, these resources could include:

• Digital Marketing

• The Kentucky Innovation Network

• Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce

• Regional Small Business Development Center

• Intellectual Property Committee

• Engineering and Manufacturing Commercialization Center

• WKU Student Business Accelerator

• Regional Entrepreneurs

• Others

The RF Board is interested in facilitating the connection of these resources to several campus initiatives that will support their growth and long term viability.

The University of Louisville Konexon's Community Portal is here to provide information and resources for entrepreneurs, and those who think they may want to be entrepreneurs, to assist in the commercialization of meaningful technologies.  

THIS PORTAL IS NOT OFFICIALLY SANCTIONED OR MAINTAINED BY THE UNIVERSITY OF LOUISVILLE.  IT IS PROVIDED AS A THIRD PARTY RESOURCE TO HELP IDENTIFY AND ACCESS RESOURCES THAT COULD HELP STUDENTS, FACULTY, OR OUTSIDE ENTREPRENEURS.  

The University of Kentucky has a broad range of resources centered on a single campus in the heart of the Bluegrass. Our wide array of programs allows us to excel in multidisciplinary studies and fosters an environment of cooperative engagement across all colleges, programs, and research endeavors. Because of the lives we touch and teach, we remain anchored in our mission to Kentucky– to educate, innovate, heal, and serve. To be sure, our complex, multi-faceted mission looks different today in many ways than it did in 1865. However, our sense of responsibility to our communities on campus and across the region is resolute. The mission has evolved and grown. The vision of service to our Commonwealth and the world beyond remains the same. They remain our compass – the soul of the University of Kentucky.

The Startup Investor is an online community individuals interested in investing in Startups.  Startups are an asset class that are not understood by many investors.  The Startup Investor is starting with a newsletter and will be moving towards a quarterly published magazine to be sent to those interested in investing in startups.  The innovations that have been broad to the world through startups have been world changing.  The Startup Investor aims to build and support a community of investors who understand the financial potential, as well as the societal benefits of investing in startups.  

The Sheltowee Venture Fund invests in very early stage companies.  We work closely with the Sheltowee Business Network and make monetary capital investments in coordination with human capital investments from the Sheltowee Business Network.  The companies listed in this Community Portal are part of the Sheltowee Venture Fund's portfolio.  The Sheltowee Venture Fund I has a model similar to a Venture Studio model where we invest in companies at a very early stage and work the Sheltowee Community to move the companies forward.    

The Sheltowee Network is the entity that holds the for profit pieces of the Sheltowee Ecosystem which includes the Sheltowee Business Network, the Sheltowee Angel Network, the Sheltowee Venture Fund and the Sheltowee Medical Device Fund.

The Sheltowee Christian Entrepreneurs is a Community Portal that provides resources and information for Christian entrepreneurs.  In Timoty 3:14 it says: "But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived".  We see this more and more each day.  So many individuals and organizations are telling us that our belief in our Saviour and moral framework is flawed.  These voices are becoming louder and more militant.  This Community is here to provide resources, inspiration and help for Christian brothers and sisters who have chosen to walk the entrepreneurial path.  

We invite all Christian brothers and sisters to join us in our efforts to help entrepreneurs build their businesses.  We will work together to build businesses that help humanity, and reflect the love of Christ at the same time.  The Sheltowee Christian Entrepreneurs Community Portal is supported by Sheltowee LLC.  

Romans 12:6-8 "We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully."

The Sheltowee Business Network (SBN) is a membership based organization that assists entrepreneurs in growing their companies.  SBN is made up of a network of highly successful entrepreneurs, investors, mentors and business advisors who can help entrepreneurs reach their business goals.  SBN can mentor and provide advisory services that can help entrepreneurs raise capital, do business development, conduct strategic planning and assist in areas where the founder needs help.  SBN is a membership organization and our members have the opportunity to earn equity and fees by helping our entrepreneurs who participate in the Sheltowee Advisory Services program.  

The Sheltowee Angel Network helps establish angel investing groups in different communities.  We currently have groups in Knoxville, Nashville and Louisville and will be expanding in the coming months.
