After a long career in IT Management culminating as President and CEO of Clarke IT Solutions, John turned his attention to entrepreneurship and the startup world. Over the last few years, John has become a strong advocate for building the best possible startup environment in the Atlantic region. He has both invested in and advised a number of startups and continues to work as a mentor with local universities and startup accelerators. Recognizing that the population demographics in the US and Canada are facing a huge shift and that there will be 80 million people over 65 in these 2 countries by the year 2030, John, who is over 70, has turned his attention to promoting developing products and services for the senior segment and to building opportunities for older Nova Scotian’s to participate in the community and the economy through both mentoring others and developing new businesses of all types. John founded the Aging2.0 Halifax chapter and is the Senior Entrepreneur in Residence for Startup Canada- Halifax.
