Biography

I’m blessed by a loving family that I don’t deserve. I feel similar about growing up in America. I’ve had opportunities to compete in international athletics, lead teams in defense of freedom, and now return to problem-solving as an entrepreneur.

Entrepreneurship is special. I learned this from my dad during the financial crisis in the early 1980s. Instead of waiting for someone to rescue our family, he courageously ventured off and supplied a service our economy demanded.

This Weber scrappiness is in my soul. Some call me ADHD for my excitable interests, yet autism grounds me in analysis & strategy. I'd like to think I've a heart for people and solving their problems.

What problems do you see? World injustices? A local kid needing mentorship? Or perhaps you’ve created an invention that would bring great joy to others?

I’m trying to solve the problem of human disconnectedness. Despite the internet’s excellent infrastructure, most applications don’t deliver on the promise of a net-positive online community. Broadcast social media often fails, so I propose private social networks as the solution.

Private networks encourage community building on a trusted platform. They offer high-fidelity content exchange among controlled organizations. These include family, friends, and hundreds of other groups with shared interests.

Consider the strengthened relationship when receiving a "Kodak" moment from someone special in your life. Can you quickly do the same for others? How long does it take you to find these cherished memories?

Memories increase oxytocin in the brain. They make us feel, and these feelings are multiplied when shared with others we love. Whether at home, school, or work, the world needs a private network for maintaining a community around our shared experiences.

I founded Heirloom to connect us with our cherished memories, and each other. Championed as the data owner, you control your photos, videos, and the resulting metamemories. Our subscription platform is simply your trusted steward.

Human disconnectedness is an enormous problem. Preserving all the world's memories in a secure exchange network is a challenging solution. Heirloom requires time, talent, and treasures if this vision is to succeed.

Some are attracted to enormous profits for success in building a global brand. Others enjoy the culture of a team on a mission. I want to celebrate life by connecting families to their precious memories, for life.

No memory left behind,
Geoff
